What is the opportunity?
Our RBC Venture’s Strategic Design (SD) team is growing!!!

We’re hiring a Product Designer for Prepped - your digital career coach that supports Canadian’s in their job search. Prepped takes a science-based approach by providing the tools and resources that are proven to increase your chances of landing the job, focusing on career planning, applying for the job, interviewing, networking and much more.

In this role, you will act as the voice of the user. You’ll pursue ways to keep users engaged and make the job search process easier for all Canadian’s. As the primary Designer, you will have the opportunity to drive the design and processes forward, giving you full ownership of the Prepped experience.

What will you do?
- Shape the look and feel of Prepped, ensuring consistency and simplicity
- Independently produce, deliver and validate high-quality end-to-end product(s), with a focus on ideating short-term design strategies and features with your product team
- Drive a high-performing product design skillset and the ability to leverage design thinking practices to build UI/ UX flows that balance strategic business goals with the needs of users
- Understands the capabilities, strengths and limitations of a technology stack to best align design and development to optimize efficiency, performance and user value
- Rationalize solutions and effectively communicate ideas and designs
- Collaborate with core team members to introduce new product features and create a better user experience based on user feedback
- Work within our Agile team structure and provide quality assurance on creative deliverables
- Lead usability-testing alongside other Product Design and UX Researchers
- Build a strong rapport with our Creative Team, Managers and Stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to Accessibility guidelines while keeping Inclusivity top-of-mind
- Deliver high-quality marketing assets and work alongside the Creative Team to elevate the presence and value proposition of a product, when required
- Support and mentor junior designers through day-to-day design challenges
- Support Strategic Design Team initiatives to help scale design thinking across RBC Ventures

What do you need to succeed?
Must-haves
- 2-3 years of experience working in digital on design teams
- An exceptional eye for detail and passion for quality
- Experience designing Native Apps and Responsive Web platforms
- Experience designing marketing assets from concept to exporting print-ready files
- Experience with a wide range of design and Prototyping Tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Principle, ProtoPie)
- Desire to work through the entire UCD process using methods like Sketching, Storyboarding, Diagramming, Wireframing, Prototyping, and Usability Testing screen-based products
- Deep knowledge in 2-3 key areas: UX/Interaction Design, UI/Visual Design, Understanding Human Behaviour, Business and Product Strategy, Design Thinking, UX Copywriting, Accessibility and Inclusive Design, Strategic Thinking, Systems Thinking, UX Research, Analytics, Usability Testing, Prototyping, Storytelling, Information Design,

Information Architecture, Design Systems, Growth Design
- BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, Product, Industrial Design) or a related field or equivalent experience
- Portfolio / Case Studies with recent work samples

Nice-to-haves
- Has built and launched at least one large feature that has gone from discovery through launch and optimization
- Experience with analytic platforms
- Knowledge and/or experience in the Agile process
- Experience building websites using Webflow
