The Impact of Nana
Nana is a vertically integrated student-to-operator trade skills school, today focused on Appliance Repair. Role Overview
We are designing solutions and solving user problems that change the appliance repair industry. As one of our first product designers, you will:
- Work closely with Operations, Growth, Engineering and Product to take designs from idea to launch
- Own the end-to-end design process across multiple features and projects
- Be the voice of our users
- Use product thinking to design world class user experiences for our technicians, customers and vendors
- Collaborate to create the foundational patterns, UI components, tools, and documentation that develops Nana's design vision
- Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually
- Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and conduct interaction & interface design, conceptual design, and usability testing
 
A Day In The Life
On any given day, a Product Designer might:
- Tackle interaction design challenges - developing big new ideas and elevating existing solutions
- Identify user needs, create user flows, build prototypes, design interfaces, ship experiences, measure results, and iterate based on quantitative and qualitative feedback
- Take into account existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, and specific platform demands to produce informed solutions
- Develop deep empathy for our customers and translate qualitative insights into creative ideas
- Work with product managers to define and solve user problems
- Collaborate with engineers to launch high-quality designs
- Successfully communicate, create, evolve and execute a strong product design standard that showcases Nana as a leader in the appliance repair industry

- A self-starter, looking for ways to make products both easier to use and more aesthetically pleasing
- Naturally curious and want to push boundaries for what's possible
- Constantly improving and open to feedback through collaboration
- A confident product designer with 3-5 years of experience
- A problem solver who is comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-evolving startup environment
- Experienced at balancing long-term design goals with an Agile-based iterative approach
