Junior Graphic Designer
Marketing | Lead Generation | Creative Branding 

The majority of our team is located in or around Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, but we have team members throughout the UK. We are currently operating as a remote workforce and intend to re-open the Waterloo office for a remote-first / hybrid working model when it is safe to do so. In terms of work location, we are only able to accept applicants within the Eastern Time Zone in Ontario at this time.

DigitalEd has a simple and resonant purpose — to shape the world through digital learning. As a SaaS company in the online learning market for higher education, our Möbius platform is a comprehensive solution designed for the unique needs of teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It’s a product that’s genuinely impacting the way students learn STEM, and with that kind of footprint in the world, imagine the team we are building behind the scenes. To support our marketing activities in 2022, we're searching for a Junior Graphic Designer to help design for social media promotion, email campaigns, and marketing initiatives.

We're looking for someone with strong conceptual skills who enjoys a design challenge and is willing to work collaboratively with a team of creative professionals. The Marketing team’s objective is to promote the DigitalEd and the Möbius brand, create demand, and ultimately deliver a steady flow of high-quality leads. The Junior Designer will work under the guidance of the Senior Designer and will have creative freedom while adhering to project specifications, requirements and our brand guidelines. Side note, we may be biased but our Senior Designer is awesome. She’s a phenomenal Creative who thinks holistically about the brand while keeping design principles front and centre. Outcomes & Key Responsibilities; What’s Expected of You
- Campaign Design: Under the guidance of the Senior Designer, assist in executing various graphic design projects for marketing campaigns. 
- Digital Design: Help develop and design website content and graphics for pay-per-click ads, social posts, landing pages, email templates and headers.
- Corporate Design: Assist various departmental stakeholders in creating designed pieces such as presentation deck clean up, sales enablement pieces, brochures and sell sheets.
- Brand Coherence and Consistency: Ensure that the DigitalEd and Möbius brands are expressed consistently in all our mediums.  
- Project Delivery: Ensure final deliverables meet specifications and are prepped for the target medium (i.e. web, print) and within timelines as planned.

Our Digital Marketing Specialist will need new, unique and impactful ads for our SEM campaigns. These new ads will be a great starting point for you to learn how we visually represent DigitalEd and Möbius. We are constantly evolving our visuals to express our brands and one of your first projects would be to review our current assets and see where we can enhance them with updated visuals and iconography.

Measures of Performance: How You Know You’re Doing Well
- Campaign Effectiveness: Whether it’s a PPC ad, an email, a sell sheet, or a presentation you work on, you will know how your design impacts how we market and how we sell.
- Brand(s) Awareness: Your designs will emphasize and differentiate the Möbius and DigitalEd brand(s); non-designers will see the differences without reading the copy.
- Design Outcomes: You will have a vested interest in designing for outcomes -- be it brand awareness; or demand/lead generation. The team will share the results of your efforts, and you will be able to confidently express future design decisions based on your design and the data. 

Competencies & Experience: The ‘Stuff’ that Makes you Great at This
- 1-3 years of graphic design and page layout experience
- Strong conceptual skills, sense of design, colour, layout, and typography using Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Basic HTML and CSS skills
- Animation and video editing experience is not required, but it is an asset
